Sarah Morrison is a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) Oncology Navigator (ON) and proud mother of three.
Because of her extensive experience, ranging from trauma rooms to ongoing chronic care, Sarah knows the ins and outs of what a patient and their family go through during a time of crisis.
Sarah is outgoing Chair for the Colorado Cancer Coalition's Pediatric and Young Adult Task Force, which focused on bridging the gap between children and young adults distinct needs; before,during and after treatment and survivorship.
Graduating Cum Laude with a B.A. in Human Development and Family Studies at Colorado State University, Sarah went on to get advanced training in Mental Health for Youth and Mediation and Conflict Resolution. She has worked in partnership with Denver Health, Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, Marshfield Clinics and Swedish Medical Center-level I trauma center.
Following her Child Life Certification, Sarah worked as a Case Aide for Larimer County Child Protection Services (CA) and as an Early Intervention Specialist (EAS) for children with special needs within the community. She is also a proud Sibshop Facilitator, which is a program dedicated to supporting the siblings of family members with ongoing special health needs.
Passionate about what Child Life Specialists can do for families, Sarah developed a Private Practice where she can work with clients in any setting to meet needs within the community. Sarah recently relocated to Central Wisconsin from Northern Colorado Sarah believes quality of care is essential and is happy to work collaboratively with child life colleges staffed in nearby hospitals for continuity of care.
In addition to this, Sarah serves as a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics section on Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (SODBP), Colorado Cancer Coalition and the Child Life Council Private Practice Task Force, which offers professional development programs and resources for students and educators.
Since 2004, Sarah has maintained a State of Colorado Nurse Aide License (NA), gaining additional intervention skills through working as a trauma tech on the Multi-Trauma Unit at Swedish Medical Center.
